Besides my finger nail polish and my car’s cruise control, you know what else needs fixing? Quite a few relationships of mine. Question: How do relationships get to the point where they are an utter mess? Possible Answer: I think its the little stuff that tears relationships apart. Like not calling someone back one too many times or not inviting them somewhere. Or not listening. This stuff happens…its inevitable. But I believe the true challenge is not avoiding these relationship potholes, but being able to pull yourself out of them. Lately, I feel like I’m the only one in my smattering of broken relationships that is willing to bite the old pride bullet and take the first step toward repair. Do I always have to call first? Do I always have to bring up the awkward elephant no one wants to talk about? In my short life experience, I’ve come to the conclusion that, generally, it’s best to just put everything out there in the open. Like dumping all the junk on the table, at lest you can see what you’ve got. Some people dont like dumping junk though. Putting it all in the open…I like that. Sometimes. Except when I have really ugly junk. We should get over that.

I just remembered a relationship I have that I’m NOT putting forth the effort to repair…Im the obstinate scared monkey. oopss.

Lesson? Dont give up on a relationship that was once meaningful to you. Even if the relationship changes…maybe it was suppose to.
